Laboratory Services

Minnie Hamilton has a full service laboratory that includes a large test menu including diagnostic tests as well as a full service microbiology department. A different approach was adopted when developing the test menu of the lab. Instead of just providing the basic service available in many rural labs, we have expanded the test menu to include several speciality tests that are critical to matching the level of care in larger facilities. This approach has worked very well and has permitted Minnie Hamilton to observe some patients instead of transferring, due to lack of information. The laboratory serves Minnie Hamilton clinic patients, Long Term Care residents, emergency room patients and also performs tests for local physicians as well as many physicians in Parkersburg and Charleston and Clarksburg areas. The lab presently performs over 100,000 tests per year and has expanded its base to include a full service lab in Gilmer County at our Glenville Office.  The Minnie Hamilton Laboratory is also proud to offer occujpational drug testing and breath alcohol testing that is required by law for many employers.  Out technicians are certified in DOT and Breath Alcohol collections and are available 24 hours a day.
