ACUTE \ INTERMEDIATE CAREMHHS, a Critical Access Hospital, is staffed and equipped to handle acute, chronic and sub-acute illnesses and injuries. The in-patient unit has a 19-bed capacity, consisting of private and semi-private beds. The private rooms can be used for isolation care. Patients of all ages can be admitted to the in-patient unit. The in-patient unit is staffed by RN's, LPN's and CNA's who provide personal, individualized nursing care to all patients. The average maximum length-of-stay allowable for inpatients in Critical Access Hospitals is 96 hours (4 days). However, the Medicare Swing-Bed Program provides for extended stays for skilled-nursing care: physical therapy, antibiotic therapy, terminal care, etc. |
